Michelle, owner of Michelle's Bakery & Tennessee Gardens, started her career in the culinary arts at the young age of 17. Her first job was at Michael’s Restaurant in Santa Monica where she learned from some of the best chefs in the country.
Her passion for food and her craft then took her to France to study under world famous Madeline Kamman. There she developed the foundation that would allow her to create exceptional food for decades to come. When she returned to the United States, she became part of the staff that opened the original Wolfgang Puck Restaurant, Spago’s, on the Sunset Strip.There she moved up the ranks and once again worked and learned from some of today’s most renown chefs.
In 1984, she got married and moved with her husband to Yucaipa to raise her family and built several businesses along the way. She started by baking cakes and desserts for local restaurants that were hungry for the level of quality and creative desserts Michelle could provide. The Raspberry Victorian the first of her Signature Dessert.
Michelle’s was established in 1982. Over the last 30 years Michelle’s has become an award winning one-of-a kind Bakery. Michelle’s is known for its European Desserts and DREAM Wedding cakes.
Michelle has three sons: 30,27 and 25 and seven grandchildren ages 1-10 years old. For those that know Michelle know she LOVES to dance! Also, she enjoys jet skiing at our nearby lakes and is an avid gardener. In 2017-2018 she is the President Elect for the Yucaipa Rotary and gives a generous amount to charity. She participates annually in Chocolate Fantasy for The Boys & Girls Clubs - their premier fundraiser to benefit the children of our community. And, this year she and Chef Shadi won Best Chocolate and Best Presentation.
