From being the driver and chef, and sometimes the judge, parents take on many roles for their children every single day. But with the current health crisis, taking on these roles feels harder than ever.

O’Flanary’s Emporium is a gift shop/painting classroom on West State Street, Redlands (a couple doors west of Saverino’s Italian Deli). Judy Coates, the owner and internationally acclaimed art teacher and speaker, named her business after her grandparents.

Hands On Knitting Center is a fiber arts store which opened in 2011. There, one discovers natural yarns and fibers of both animal and plant origin, many of which are machine washable.  There are also patterns, pattern books, and the tools (needles, hooks, looms) necessary to create sweaters, socks, scarves, shawls, hats, gloves, cuffs – you name it. Since weaving looms are expensive, the Center offers looms for rent, so one can try a weaving project without having to purchase a loom.

The Historical Glass Museum opened to the public in 1985. In 1977 the Historical Glass Museum Foundation purchased a 1903 Victorian-style home at 1157 North Orange Street in Redlands. It was the beginning of a dream to preserve specimens of American glass from factories that were becoming extinct, as well as factories and glass artists currently producing glass. The Museum now houses the largest collection of American-made glass west of the Rocky Mountains.

Swank Designs and Swoon Home are the twin brainchildren of RaeLena Vasquez. These complementary businesses are located on Citrus Avenue in the former Coin Broker shop. Those familiar with the Coin Broker business will immediately notice the upscale design changes RaeLena has made to this space. Her goal – bring a designer feel to Redlands.

Ruth Chafin is an interior designer with a twist – she is also a California State licensed contractor!

Established in 1999, The Royal Falconer is the oldest, and most iconic, pub in Redlands.
