Movies in the Park
Movies in the Park Series kicks off with BFG at Ed Hales Park
Movie-goers are encouraged to arrive early and bring their own lawn chairs and/or blankets. The movie begins at dusk (Approximately 6:-6:15 p.m.) with activities beginning at 5 p.m. There will be free entertainment and activities for children, including a free multi-sport demo hosted by Sportball. Children in attendance will also receive free glow sticks, bracelets and goodie bags.
Additional entertainment will be provided 30 minutes prior to the film with Bob Fraley, a retired school teacher who has been performing folk music for the last 50 years and started performing at the Penny University Folk Music Theater in San Bernardino.
The Movies in the Park program will continue throughout the year screening the following films:
Sing – May 26: Free mental health awareness event features movie ‘Sing’ U of R and City of Redlands partner to host third annual ‘Out in the Open’ during Mental Health Awareness Month. The University of Redlands Alliance for Community Transformation and Wellness (ACTW) has partnered with the City of Redlands to increase awareness and decrease associated stigma about mental health and illness by hosting the third annual “Out in the Open” community event at 5 p.m. Friday, May 26 in Ed Hales Park on the corner of Fifth and State streets in downtown Redlands. The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature information and resources, activities, entertainment, and the city’s Movie in the Park, “Sing,” starting at dusk. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
