They make the best extra dirty gin Martini in town.

My honey and I sit at the bar for dinner. We like the vibe. Also, it's a great place to watch people. We get the baked potato with mushrooms, spinach, and sauteed onions (Vegan). It's not on the menu but they will make anything we ask for which we appreciate.

I love the Tartan! I have been eating there for decades. It was one of my first jobs when I was 15.
The burgers are amazing! The coconut shrimp is probably one of the best around. And the soups are delicious!

We came in last night to get a vegan meal and WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Literally, the BEST baked potato we have EVER had. Linda's sauteed spinach was the BEST to date. The cooks were VERY attentive to our requests which was wonderful. And, Ashley is a GEM. She knew what dishes and sauces had non-vegan ingredients and she was a TRUE delight! That's going to be a regular for us.
We ordered a baked potato, broccoli, onions, mushrooms and Linda's spinach with three BBQ sauces. The cook did not saute the onions and mushroom the typical way so they were crisp with a mild carmelization. Absolutely OUTSTANDING. Kudos to the TARTAN!!

The Friday clam chowder can't be beat! But day in and day out the chicken Caesar is my choice. Try it with Tabasco!

My favorite thing to order if the burger or the grilled chicken Breast with cottage cheese! They also have great tacos!

Their taco burger is quite good, and the salsa is a killer! More than I would have expected from other than a Mexican restaurant.

Great filet mignon, is a little pricey. Quick and attentive service. In all, a very simple, well- cooked enjoyable meal!

This is Old School Redlands. It's as a steak house should be with the red leather upholstery and the dark paneling. We eat there often, and all of our out-of-town friends request the Tartan when they visit. The service is friendly. We order the fried onion rings cooked extra well done to nibble on while waiting for our food.

I can't speak for the other beef dishes, but definitely the best burger in town. Decor is clubby in a late sixties/early seventies kind of way.

I have noticed that you post the daily specials for the Tartan Restaurant. My wife is a waitress there and she has told me that since you have been posting those specials they have been getting quite a bit of new traffic coming in. I was wondering if you could post a special for my Window Cleaning business?

If you like burgers ya gotta go to the Tartan!

It was the first time. I can't believe that this place has been here longer than we've lived in the area, and we haven't been before.
My wife was impressed, although there isn't much on the menu that she can eat with her allergy to beef and dairy products. But she thoroughly enjoyed her ham sandwich (without cheese) and we both enjoyed the fries. My hot pastrami sandwich was about the best I've had. We want to go back!
Nice, old-school decor, especially with all of the Christmas decorations.
Thanks for guiding us to this place!

No one makes a cheeseburger quite like the Tartan. Very well priced for the quality and they'll make it however you like. My husband likes his like a hockey puck and I like mine to say hello to me when it's served, and that's just about how they come. Yum.
They make great drinks and if you get a fou fou girlie drink they don't cheap out on the alcohol like a lot of chain restaurants do. Prices are good and the servers are friendly. The other night I ordered a drink that was too strong for me and the waitress kindly converted it to a more manageable level of alcohol for me and she didn't charge me extra for the trouble. Again, drink prices are good and not overpriced like a chain restaurant would be.
Every time my husband and I have been there we are the youngest ones there. This is great!!! The place is usually crowded with the geriatric crowd and it's noisy but at a comfortable buzzing level and not obnoxiously loud. You can carry on a conversation there even when it's packed and still not have to shout. Nice!

Whenever I go to the Tartan, I always swear that I'm going to try something different, but I always end up ordering the Tartan Burger. As other reviewers have said, it's one of the best burgers in town. They are all cooked to order, I get mine Medium with Swiss cheese, bacon and grilled onions, and it is damn tasty. In-N-Out has nothin' on the Tartan! Oh, and you must absolutely try the deep fried green beans. They pair very well with a nice Sam Adams.
The wait staff is friendly, fast and efficient. A+
