About the play Steve Martin’s long-running, absurdist comedy places Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso in a Parisian cafe in 1904, just before the renowned scientist transformed physics with his theory of relativity and the celebrated painter set the art world afire with cubism. The story plays fast and loose with facts as these two geniuses muse on the century’s prospects and other fanciful topics, with infectious dizziness. Bystanders, including Picasso’s agent, the bartender and his mistress, Picasso’s date, an elderly philosopher, and an idiot inventor introduce additional flourishes of humor. Performance extras include an Opening Night Gala on June 6 as well as a "Talk Back" discussion with director and cast after the Saturday matinee on June 21. Individual tickets are $20 for adults, $14 students with ID, and $17 for groups of 10 or more. Presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.
