Shodo (Japanese Calligraphy)

Step into a world of focus and flow with our Shodo class, the traditional art of Japanese calligraphy. This course offers a peaceful yet disciplined introduction to the "Way of the Brush," where you’ll learn to transform ink and paper into expressive art. We’ll guide you through the essentials—from the proper way to hold the brush and grind your ink to mastering the fundamental strokes of Kanji characters. Shodo is as much a meditative practice as it is a creative one, helping you cultivate mindfulness and "mushin" (a clear mind) with every line you draw. Whether you're an aspiring artist or simply seeking a calm escape from the daily grind, no prior experience or Japanese language skills are necessary to begin your journey.
