Redlands Camera Club: The Strange World of Infrared Photography

The Strange World of Infrared Photography On Monday, January 19, Redlands Camera Club will present a program in which participants will have an opportunity to see the unnatural and learn how to capture it. The presenter, Jürgen Lobert, is a Massachusetts-based fine art photographer and educator specializing in night photography, daytime long exposures, urban exploration, and infrared imagery. Infrared, or IR, photography captures the unseen, a part of the light spectrum beyond humans’ natural ability to observe. Leaves and plants, human skin, the sky and clouds and other objects reflect IR light differently than visible light, appearing in unexpected ways. This creates surreal and otherworldly photos that draw the viewer in to examine a scene differently. Jürgen’s presentation will cover reasons for photographing in infrared, types of IR, equipment for capturing it, editing pointers and resources.
- This free Zoom-only presentation begins at 7pm. The public is welcome to attend. For a link to the meeting and more, see the Redlands Camera Club website HERE
