Intro to Photography 6-week Course Photographic “seeing” is different from ordinary everyday “seeing”. We use our eyes continuously for many things, but we also have our brain to help us both understand and interpret what we are viewing. A camera is a simple recording device with no such ability. While taking a picture requires nothing more than pushing the shutter button, taking a photograph is something else entirely. Beginning January 13, Intro to Photography covers the theory and basic techniques for capturing digital images with artistic merit. Live digital lectures will introduce and explain photographic concepts and techniques for capturing images, including Exposure, Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO, Creative use of exposure controls, in-camera light meter, Histogram, Exposure Bracketing, Camera Handling, and Basic Composition. Each lecture will be followed by a field trip for putting new knowledge into practice.
