Spinet Program: French Organist Laurent Jochum

The public is invited to hear French organist Laurent Jochum perform at The Spinet music organization meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21.

The event will feature the First Congregational Church Turner pipe organ in the sanctuary at 2 W. Olive Ave. This date is part of Jochum's organ concert tour in Southern California.

Jochum, a native of Thionville, France, and the son and grandson of liturgical organists, has had a 22-year concert career. He has won several competitions including the International Organ Competition of Lorraine and has played at such prestigious venues in Paris as Cathedrale Notre-Dame, Saint-Etienne-du-Mont, La Madeleine and Saint Clotilde.

He is regularly the guest of major festivals in several French cities and has performed in many European countries, Canada and the United States.
