Documentary filmmaker and author Carole Adrienne of Philadelphia will discuss “Civil War Medicine” in a free, virtual program, hosted by the Inland Empire Civil War Round Table, at 6:15 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16. The link is here.
Adrienne’s presentation will be based on her book “Healing a Divided Nation: How the American Civil War Revolutionized Western Medicine” (Pegasus Publishing, 2022); and on her upcoming, documentary film series of the same name. Adrienne received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia. Abraham Lincoln historian and author David J. Kent calls Adrienne’s book “an exceptional look at the growth of health care spurred by the Civil War.” The Inland Empire CWRT, which was founded in 1987, hosts monthly, virtual presentations; and also offers programs, which livestream, at the A.K. Smiley Public Library, 125 W. Vine St., Redlands.
The lectures are free and open to the public. For more information, and to view the Round Table’s recorded programs here.
