Montessori in Redlands is a private school that provides a Montessori education to children ages 18 months to 6th grade following the principal and practices of the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). Our purpose is to provide a joyful Montessori education in a manner that respects and embraces the whole child. At MIR, children begin a life journey of self-realization, love of learning, and global responsibility. MIR is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and has an international reputation as an outstanding Montessori school.
Montessori in Redlands (MIR) is an independent, nonprofit school in Redlands, serving more than 300 students from 18 months through 6th grade. Founded in 1976 by a small group of local parents who wanted to bring the magic of Montessori education to the Redlands area, MIR remains a deeply rooted part of the community.
We provide a joyful Montessori education in a manner that respects and embraces the whole child. Guided by the principles and practices of the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), our program supports each child's cognitive, physical, and executive development, while fostering independence and a sense of responsibility for themselves, their local community, and the greater world around them.
Students at MIR are guided by AMI-trained teachers in thoughtfully prepared learning environments and mixed-age classrooms where collaboration and mentorship naturally thrive. With interrupted work periods and freedom within clear limits, children are empowered to make meaningful choices and engage deeply in their learning. Instruction is individualized, allowing each student to progress according to their unique developmental stage.
