Candidate Forum for Redlands Education Offices
Watch candidates for Redlands school board and county superintendent square off in a free live Zoom forum on Monday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m.
The public is invited to attend a live forum online featuring candidates for the Redlands Unified School District Board of Education and the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5.
All seven candidates for these three offices have been invited.
The forum will be hosted via Zoom by the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Redlands and the University of Redlands Public Policy Program. The American Association of University Women Redlands and the University of Redlands are nonpartisan organizations. They neither endorse nor support candidates financially. This forum is a public service to the Redlands community, to enable interested voters to evaluate the candidates on a level playing field.
The format is not a debate, but a moderated forum. All candidates will have the opportunity to answer each question in rotation. A panel of three moderators will pose the questions. Voters are welcome to submit their questions in advance by by 6 pm Oct 2 to candidateforum@aauwredlands.org.
The moderators are Renee Van Vechten, Political Science Professor at the University of Redlands; Dorene Isenberg, retired Professor of Economics at the University of Redlands; and Cassie MacDuff, retired journalist and AAUW member.
The candidates are: Dale Broome and Patty Holohan running for Redlands Unified School District (RUSD) Board Area 1; Maria Montes, Ryan Schavrien, and Tiara Richardson running for RUSD Board Area 2; and Cali Binks and Alejandro "Alex" Vara running for County Superintendent of Schools.
