The City of Redlands is pleased to announce that the United States Capitol Christmas Tree will be coming to Redlands from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, on its way to Washington, D.C. Festivities will be hosted in downtown Redlands on West Pearl Avenue between Orange and Eureka streets.
Each year, a different national forest provides a tree to light up the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol building for the holiday season. The Six Rivers National Forest, in partnership with nonprofit partner Choose Outdoors, will bring this special gift from Trinity County to Washington, D.C., for the 2021 holiday season with a series of special events in communities along the way.
This year the tree will be making its journey to the Capitol through Redlands. Well-wishers will have a chance to sign the banners on the sides of the truck, learn more about the Six Rivers National Forest, purchase Christmas merchandise, enjoy free entertainment and much more.
Free hot chocolate and kettle corn will be available to the first 400 children in attendance.
Entertainment and activities will include:
The Citrus Valley High School Marching Band.
The 501st Legion Star Wars costuming group.
Character meet and greets with Santa Claus and his elves, the Grinch, Olaf and various superheroes and princesses.
An outdoor photo booth with a panoramic lens will provide free selfie photos with the Christmas tree.
Free trackless train rides
