The Romance of Schumann

Welcome the return of spring with the joyous Symphony No. 1 from Robert Schumann, the first of the great Romantic composers. The evening begins with the rarely-performed overture for his only opera, Genoveva, praised by The New York Times as “a tapestry of impassioned romantic melody.” The excitement continues as the Redlands Symphony showcases the talented winner of the University of Redlands’ annual concerto competition.

Heavenly Voices

Your spirit will soar in this celebration of the human voice. Nearly 100 singers join the Redlands Symphony to breathe life into two glorious choral masterworks. Originally created to accompany worship services, Bach and Vivaldi’s masterpieces now take center stage with their uplifting majesty.

The Glorious Gift of Birds

Our fine feathered friends have long outdone us as musical virtuosi, and their song has inspired composers throughout the ages. Let your imagination take flight with the exotic colors of Stravinsky’s "Nightingale", exquisite birdsong from Vivaldi and Rautavaara, and the graceful melodies of Tchaikovsky’s "Swan Lake."
