I first learned about Dr. Traci Lowenthal's expertise when I was the editor of the Redlands Daily Facts, and she began writing a weekly column.
First of all, her columns were timely, useful and well written. From advice to those afraid of public speaking to support for people not at peace with their own or their loved ones' genders to talking about suicide, Dr. Lowenthal furthered much needed discussion among neighbors.
Second, she demonstrates a sensitivity and respect for all people that brings comfort, even through her writing. In person, it's even greater. She is a safe place to be who you are, no matter who you are.
Third, she wrote weekly at no cost to the paper, but out of a dedication to serve her community by sharing freely what she had to give.
This is a remarkable human being, and Redlands is lucky to have her among us.
If you ever have need of psychological support, she should be your first call.

I really learned a lot when she and a colleague spoke at an Autism Parent Support Group meeting.
